After having my site hacked to the point of my server shutting down my site completely– my server resolved and got my site, sanirang.net, back up and working. However, since then, my NextGEN Gallery 2.1.2 plugin prompts a 500 Internal Server Error upon activation. I have tried deactivating all other plugins through the process of elimination; however, this doesn’t seem to have helped matters at all. The only positive thing, is that my NextGEN Gallery galleries and albums still exist and show up in the WP Admin dashboard when the plugin is activated– however, because of the 500 Internal Server Error, there is no way of viewing them. The other good thing, is that the site works fine upon immediate deactivation of the NextGEN plugin.

This issue has been resolved. My server doesn’t provide the necessary PHP 5.4 version or greater needed to make NEXTGEN Gallery work, but instead only provide 5.3 version.

Additionally, I have found NEXTCellent Gallery plugin which seems to be doing the trick for the most part!

@sanirang – Although recommended in the same way that WordPress recommends using PHP 5.4 or later, NextGEN Gallery only requires the same minimums that WordPress itself does.

    Thanks!
