try MANUALLY upgrading. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old copies of files & folder on your server before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first.
– If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong.
Hi, after we switched to 4.1 our adverts disappeared, in the widgets page the right-hand side list of active widgets has vanished and there is no functionality to make or upload our widgets, anyone any ideas please on how to fix? it creates about 8 errors for all our 18,000 pages, a lot of errors! also loss of revenue.

Thank you Tara for your suggestion. I think manual upgrading sounds a bit beyond me, but someone else elsewhere had also suggested it might be an issue about space on the server. I’ll look into it!
Thanks though.

You mean memory?
try increasing memory available for php. See if that helps resolve the issue.
Hi Tara
It was indeed a memory issue – an expanded quota and everything updated, and I’m now cooking with gas. Thanks for your help!
