404 error when submit comment

    Hoping you all can help. Some commenters on my blog – but not all – encounter a 404 error after they submit a comment, and the comment never goes through.

    Certain commenters are redirected to this page after they click submit: http://www.mysouthborough.com/wp-comments-post.php (If you click the link you’ll see the page is blank, but commenters report they get my standard 404 error page.)

    This is affecting only some commenters, not all. I can’t discern a pattern as to which commenters it’s happening to, and I’m not able to reproduce it. But I’ve heard it from several different commenters now, so I don’t believe it’s a client-side problem.

    I haven’t made any changes to the blog recently. No new plugins. I actually haven’t even upgraded my plugins in a while (oops), so no code changes there.

    Any thoughts on what might be happening?

    Anyone? More readers have notified me of this problem, so I know it’s still happening and I’m struggling! Suggestions?

    I have a bit more information on this 404 error. It seems to happen exclusively with IE. I was able to reproduce it using IE 8, and a reader who had encountered the problem with IE was able to successfully submit a comment using Firefox.

    I wish I could say that piece of data made it more obvious to me what the problem is, but alas it doesn’t.

    Any thoughts out there?
