404 error

Hello,

Having a bit of difficulty with this! im a newbie too so please be patient with me! x

I set up a website yesterday, sorted out hosting etc, and logged into the control panel. we uploaded word press to my cp, and i used it, changed the theme and added some text etc.

Then an hour later, i try typing my website URL with /wordpress or even wp-admin and i cant access the wordpress area to work on the site, all i get is a 404 error page. ?

I have searched the cp and all i can find is site software but it only has the option to uninstall or install wp again, i simply want to manage the wp i already have. how do i get into this?

Can somebody shed any light on this please?
