I just finally upgraded to 3.4.2, and while my site looks fine, I can no longer access it! I have tried adding “temp” to all of my plugin folders individually and also to my theme folder. Nothing. Every time I try to access the dashboard or edit a page I get the following URL:

    http://realisticmustache.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2F

along with the 404 Error message: “The requested page was not found.”

My host is GoDaddy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hi,

Are you also having trouble just logging in to the dashboard through here: wp-login?

Yes, I can get the /wp-login page and enter my info, but then it takes me right back to that error domain I pasted above.

I forgot to ask what version you were updating from and whether or not you upgraded using the GoDaddy Hosting Connection or manually? Have you seen this post in the GoDaddy Support Forum about a similar problem: WordPress 3.4.2 Problem.

    I think I was in 3.2.something. I hadn’t updated in a while. Does this make a difference?

And I updated manually. I will go look on the GoDaddy forum now. Thanks for your time!

Got it! I spoke to the folks at GoDaddy and they found the problem to be that the database also needed to be updated, but had not been. So they went ahead and updated it and…Viola!

Thanks much for taking the time to reply to my query!

Not a problem at all! I am glad that you were able to get help from GoDaddy.
