2FA and unlock email
-
Due to a problem with my password manager, I locked myself out my website. I requested an email giving me links to access my site.
I chose this option:
“Click here to unlock all IP addresses and disable the Wordfence Firewall and Wordfence login security for all users. Do this if you keep getting locked out or blocked and can’t access your site. You can re-enable login security and the firewall once you sign-in to the site by visiting the Wordfence Firewall menu, clicking and then turning on the firewall and login security options. If you use country blocking, you will also need to choose which countries to block.”
I still could not access my site and got a message something like this:
“This account requires 2FA to be activated. Please contact the site Administrator.”
I reset my modem recently and ended up with a new IP address. This resulted in me needing to use 2FA. It has been so long since I was asked for 2FA I had forgotten how this worked and I was wondering why all of sudden I was needing to use it.
Can you possibly find a way to disable the 2FA requirement when an administrator is trying to regain access to their site?
I was able to use Wordfence Central to disable 2FA and I might have been able to disable Wordfence and regained access but did have some frustrating moments that I wish I could have avoided.
I’ve been thinking, did the link disable 2FA for my account and not disable the 2FA requirement for 2FA as well? I didn’t disable it. If that is what is happening that should be fixed.
