A friend of mine is having problems with tags as well. Instead of adding the words he puts in, it returns the word “Array”. Kind of hurts his site too since the tags are a huge part of his site layout and navigation.
I noticed that on another site (same server) that there were image uploader problems related to tag management plugins. I disabled the plugins and the image uploading came back.
But, I don’t have any tag or category management plugins on this site, so I’m still flummoxed.

I have the same problem.
Upgraded to 2.8 and cannot add any tags to new posts but ONLY in two of three wordpress installations.
I’m trying to found out what is different in the one that works.
There’s is also other things that don’t work like drag and drop menus.

We have the same problem that we can only enter a single tag with any post after upgrade to 2.8. We have tried disabling all plugins and the problem persists any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

To fix it, just de-activate all plugins and re-activate them.
Ok, so I painstakingly went through all of my plugins, one by one, and tried to see if anything happened and found that it is the “Events Calendar v.6.6-beta” that creates this problem. At least for me. When deactivated everything works fine. So I reinstalled version 6.5.2.1 instead and it works fine again.
If all you that has the same problem use the same plugin too, then we know where the problem is.
I am also having problems with tags…not sure how similar it is. It lets me assign tags but clicking on them doesn’t work at all. It takes me to a blank page with the tag name as the header.
