    Hi

Can the themes with the note in footer “Must keep footer intact as is !” be used for commercial purposes?

    Depends on the theme.

All themes in the Official Themes Directory have a GPL compatible license, and so can be modified and/or used for any purpose, commercial or not.

Themes you get elsewhere are not guaranteed to have this compatibility, and are not recommended.

    Thanks Otto42,

What about the themes with Creative Commons license, can they be used for commercial purposes?

There is no one “Creative Commons” license, there’s several. So you need to specify which license it is. If the license says “NC” in it, then it can’t be used for commercial projects.
