• Hi — I’m here out of desperation… Can’t get into my site.

I had a designer install a WP theme for a website. I haven’t been active with the site for about 1 year, and now getting back to the project — I can’t get into the admin panel. I called my host 1&1 after reading here that there was a problem with 127.0.0.1 and 1&1 — only to learn from 1&1 tech support that the designer installed the theme manually and now I’m unable to get into the site.

Unfortunately, I am no longer working with this designer — didn’t have a good experience and he is way too expensive. I’m hopeful someone here can advise me on what next steps I need to take. Even if that’s scrap the theme and start over.

    Thanks,…

    – If the issue is with your current theme, then try switching to the unedited default Twenty Fifteen theme for a moment using FTP , or your web-host’s cPanel or whatever file management application your host provides. Navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder by adding “-old” to the end of the folder name. Alternately, you can remove other themes except the default theme. That will force your site to use it.

    This should let you login.
