1&1 403 error
-
Before you ask or tell me, I have looked at other posts about people having problems like this. They haven’t helped me. I’m using 1&1 hosting and I tried manually installing using FTP, I followed 1&1’s instructions and what I’m getting is 403.14 Forbidden error. I’ve been fighting with this for three days, I contacted 1&1 but they haven’t gotten back to me.
One thing is that I can go to anything that’s php and it works fine but when I try anything else it’s the same error.
To see for yourself, the site is here. Someone please help me because I’m stressing out way too much over this.

Hi GodwinA,
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Three days! And no support coming from 1&1! That’s awful. Anyway, I Googled “wordpress 403.14 Forbidden error” and found this thread that might shed some light on your situation:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/http-error-40314-forbidden
And several other similar threads. Moreover, not that what I found has specially to do with WordPress, I also found a discussion about your reported 403.14 Forbidden error message and your host 1&1:

Lastly, Googling “1&1 403.14 Forbidden error The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory.” found these little nuggets of possible help:

AND my personal favorite being that the screenshot there looks like the link you provided:

Hey thanks for your help. For the record, I had to add index.php to the list in my web.config file. It took five minutes to fix something that’s taken me three days. Knowing really is half the battle. Thanks Randy!
Hi GodwinA,
That’s awesome and you’re welcome! Glad to hear (and see) that you got your site up and running. Where the heck would we be without The Google! 😉
GodwinA thank you so much for your index.php add to the web config file tip – this has solved my issue too that I’ve been dealing with for the past 3 hours!!!! The first post I found that fixed my issue! Thanks a million!!!
