In general, will plugins that are said to be compatible eg “up to 2.6.2” also work with WP 2.6.3 or even 2.6.5?
I know 2.7 is something by it self, but is 2.6 like “all” 2.6?
    Thanks,

  • Most likely, a plugin that works at 2.6.2 would work at 2.6.5.

    Thanks Michael

I should wish, though, that the info in the plugins’ directory were updated better. Even many plugins claimed to work up to WP 2.5 still work on 2.6. But that’s an other part of the story :o)

The info in the plugins directory comes from the plugin authors themselves. So if they don’t update the plugin, then it doesn’t get updated.

Thought so, though I also believed that they could update just that compatibility info.
    Too bad,
    – it really is bad marketing for something they have put a lot of effort in – and in many cases it would keep users away from trying them out. (Just re-uploading the same old but still well working plugin would do the trick, if I understand it correctly :o)

They can. They frequently don’t though.
