Weird characters –invisible in html but appear elsewhere

    I have been trying to enable Hebrew on my blog. But when I changed the charset and tried to enable the Feedburner feed, I got an error message showing me all kinds of strange characters. So I reverted back to the standard charset and gave up on Hebrew for a while.

    I also got them when I reverted to the standard charset and tried the WP spellcheck:
    ��������%�1
    �0DѻLc�x;+D-���a�X(���y���G���q̚�� =҃��㬔
    I can’t see them within the post editor. I have no idea where they came from, or how to get rid of them.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Feedburner is out of business, for one thing, so anything ported through them will not be working.

    Have you changed the character set back to Western?
