Detecting user’s previous page/screen

Hi all,

I’ve a conundrum – I want to display a different the_content depending on whether a user arrives from a search page or from the home page.

The reason for this is… we display a ‘teaser’ on the home page; but they may not see this when arriving from a search or via the archive.

My first thought was to test the_content (strip-teaser) = ” but WordPress puts content into that – whether or not there was any content in the ‘body’.

So, I’m now stuck… any ideas? (essentially – I was thinking of something along the lines of detecting the javascript:history.back(-1) – but then I thought there had to be something simpler…
