Sorry that you ran into issues here!
Can you tell me a bit more?
– What version of WP are you running here?
– What exact version of BD? (number, please)
I presume you’re using BD 5.0+, where we changed how sticky/featured listings work.
In order to not charge for featured listings, you’ll need to do this:
– Turn ON payments under Directory Admin->Manage Options (yes, I know…stay with me here!)
– Activate the “Authorize.net” gateway on the Payments tab and provide FAKE credentials to make it active. (Doesn’t matter what they are)
– Once you’ve completed that, under Directory Admin->Manage Fees, add TWO fee plans, both that cost 0.00
– One should have the ‘Featured’ checkbox turned on, one with it off.
– Assign the Featured fee plan to the listings you want to be featured
– Use the other fee plan for the rest.
If you did it the old way, featured was an option on the listings, but this ended up causing a lot of headaches because you could also set it on the fee plan and sometimes you’d end up with featured listings on fee plans that weren’t supposed to have it. We changed this for 5.0.

I’m having the same problem here. I’ve rolled back to version 5.1.5 where the featured listings worked with the free option.
