Caught in gmail spam filter

I installed the plugin. It works great! I primarily use it to build a subscriber list that will receive an email alert when I post a new blog. However, the messages always go to the spam folder for gmail users. You have to manually set up a filter to get them into your inbox which most people will not do. Is there a way to fix that?
