    Hi,

I have installed Give and it is updated to latest version. I get below error in dashboard.

” Give needs to upgrade the database but cannot because AJAX does not appear accessible. This could be because your website is password protected, in maintenance mode, or has a specific hosting configuration or plugin active that is preventing access. ”

I have installed “WP Hide & Security Enhancer” and “Hide WP Admin and Login” for security.

In Wp Hide & Security Enhancer did changes in plugin folder name as “myfolder”. So according to .htaccess plugin folder access is as domain.com/myfolder/give in place to default /wp-content/plugins/give.

Please help me how can i remove this error and resolve issue.

To provide more specific information here. After I got error as stated in previous thread I tired to reinstall WordPress by deleting previous installation and fresh database.

And it was observed by me that if “WP Hide & Security Enhancer” is not installed and security setting not done then I do not get any error of Ajax. Even in Tools, status of Admin Ajax is Accessible.

With this I hope Give is giving error when security Harding is done with WP Hide & Security Enhancer.

Hey @patelbhavin8008 – some security plugins can cause that error to happen. If possible, deactivate that plugin, back up your site, then perform the upgrades Give is asking to do.

We have an article linked in that error which explains how/why this error can occur: https://givewp.com/documentation/core/frequent-troubleshooting-issues/admin-ajax-blocked/

You probably have already seen that but I just wanted to point out at the bottom of the article is a filter you can use if you’re absolutely sure AJAX is working on your site. However, in your case it sounds like the security plugin may be the culprit preventing the update. If that’s the case deactivating it temporarily may be the best bet.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have anymore questions.
