• Hi,
Wordpress keeps suggesting I update to version 2.7.1, when I try and upload or install it will not allow me to do so.
It gets as far as the unzip page and stops – what are my next steps or is there a generic issue?
This is also preventing me with plugin – contact form 7.

If you could help me I would appreciate it,

    Thanks
    Danny

  • Disable all plugins and try the upgrade again.

It’s possible there’s an issue with your host, and it’s not allowing the ‘unpacking’ so you may have to follow the Upgrading WordPress instructions to upgrade to 2.7.1

Thanks MichaelH, I will try that.
I will contact 1and 1 re upgrading but never had this sort of issue to date.
    Thanks again,

Hey, I have de-actived all the plugs in,

I then tried to update and the installs goess this far….
    “Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.7.1.zip

    Unpacking the core update”

and then stalls and nothing happens

    Any ideas please?

    Accroding to Core_Update_Host_Compatibility:

1and1 (fails running PHP 4, but works with PHP 5. Add AddType x-mapp-php5 .php to .htaccess to enable PHP 5. This also appears to not only affect Core updates but some Plugin updates as well.)
