Still this grey overlap.
according to your website, the images are not 400×400,
This one is 400×250, i believe the rest are about the same.

So the plugin must resise it somehow
I double checked it in wordpress admin and this one is set as featured image.
this is probably something set in the media settings of your WordPress site. try editing the Medium size to 400×400 in Settings – Media, then re-upload the square images to the member featured image.
Hi i followed these steps. But same result.
Medium size in settings set to 400×400
Deleted features images and upload new ones.
Same result.
