Hello,
actually this happen if same permalink already exists you need to first confirm is there any other post exists with same permalink. you need to first change the current posts permalink 480006 to 480006-old and then open same post like this http://yoursite/480006 and check the post if its exists then change its permalink then again update your 480006-old permalink as you want.
you can change permalink like this edit your post and change like this

if you still face issue you can ask i will more explain you.
Thanks
Hello,
thank you for the quick reply.
So, I empty the whole database table “wp_posts” with phpmyadmin. Then I create a new page with page title “Test” and change permalink to “480006”. On saving the page the permalink changed back to “480006-2”. Strange!
I looked at the table “wp_posts” with phpmyadmin and changed field value for “post_name” from “480006-2” back to “480006”. When I than open the page for editing in WordPress backend the permalink shows again “480006-2” ! In phpmyadmin the field value for “post_name” is still “480006”.
So, the permalink value shown in backend must be changed by WordPress as it is not the value from the databese table. Any idea where this happens?
Regards
Thomas

Hello,
I found out that this must be a problem if you try to use only numbers for the permalink. If I use e.g. “a480006” or “480006a” it workes.
Is there a way to change that, so I can only use numbers as permalink?
My installation is on an local development server. But if it is necessary I can transfer it online and give you access. Let me know.
Regards
Thomas
