We’ve haven’t included one but I can pass this back to the devs.
The plugin adds a custom post type that creates its own pages. They don’t need to be embedded elsewhere because there’s already an archive page.
@dg5 if you want to display the portfolio in post or static page (diferent than the archive) you can use a widget. You have to create a widget area and use Genesis featured posts widget ofr example.
If you just want to display the portfolio items in a grid or list, just use the archive page. I think by default is yoursite.com/portfolio.
Enjoy :).

Thanks @luiscolome
I would like to show specific portfolio items on a page. I can easily add widgets to that page but I don’t get the cool display the portfolio grid layout gives me when I do it this way. Part of this is to be consistent with the user experience when seeing a portfolio item as we highlight it/them on specific pages.
I’m not sure if this is what @dg5 was looking to do, but it would great to be able to have a shortcode like [gen-port-pro] that would display the full grid, [gen-port-pro catid=3] to show just one category in a grid and [gen-port-pro pitem=1917] that would show a specific portfolio item with the grid type appearance.
Thanks.

This is very much needed with this plugin.

Thank you for asking about a shortcode addition to Genesis Portfolio Pro.
I can’t promise if or when this will be added, but I wanted to let you all know that your requests have been noted! https://github.com/copyblogger/genesis-portfolio-pro/issues/13
