WPCACHEHOME
-
Hi, sorry to be a pain. I was a very successful and happy user of Super Cache until Wordfence didn’t play so nice with it, so when they released their Falcon engine I went that way. I have been not caching for a while- since they stopped the Falcon option, but would like to get back to doing it.
I have my wp-config file in the folder above the http folder, and this file redirects to the “real” wp-config in another folder in the root of my shared server “disk”. All of that was done a few years ago, following the “Hardening WordPress” article. It works, but I am getting an error with Supercache –
Warning! WP Super Cache caching was broken but has been fixed! The script advanced-cache.php could not load wp-cache-phase1.php.
The file /home/ian/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php has been recreated and WPCACHEHOME fixed in your wp-config.php. Reload to hide this message.
But reloading doesn’t fix it.
I reckon, most likely that it is my unusual wp-config locations which are causing this issue, so I realise that this is my fault, but I have 2 options – either go back to the standard (less secure?) settings, or ask here where I should put the settings for WPCACHEHOME. I would rather leave things as they are, and add the WPACHEHOME to the wp-config, but could I add it to the “real” one which lives in a folder elsewhere, or would I need to add it to the one which redirects to the “real” one. Would it even matter?
Maybe my settings are not all that common these days – I did this a good few years ago, but if it isn’t broken, and all that!
But mainly, I know nothing about php, and I wouldn’t know the syntax to “Define” the option, even if I knew where to.
My Plugins folder, specifically supercache is here
/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache, but I guess all of you already knew that!
Could I ask where I would put the code that Supercache is not doing? And should it go in the redirect wp-config.php, or could it go in the “real” one in a folder in the “root” of my shared drive?
Many thanks for any help!
Ian
