I am guessing that is because you are using a caching plugin. WP-Polls is not compatible with any caching plugin and nothing has changed. So I am not sure why is it working for you before.
Do you mean the plugin that tracks my traffic? The only other plugin I have on the site it Jetpack.
Hmm, weird, I am able to vote fine on your site.
Here’s a sample from this morning:
Trying to vote for Sam’s Organics for local manufacturer but getting a error “Failed to verify referrer”.
And another:
Yesterday I was able to see the results once, but mostly got the “Failed To Verify Referrer” message, and just now got the same.
This user said she accessed the page exactly the same way as yesterday:
Yesterday I was able to see the results once, but mostly got the “Failed To Verify Referrer” message, and just now got the same.
I am able to vote for “Sam’s Organics” just fine.
It works for me, too. But here are some sample error reports I received today. Seriously anything you can do to support this application would be GREATLY appreciated. I can’t tell you how important these polls are to our nonprofit organization.
ERROR REPORTS:
Good morning, Id like to vote for Sams Organics and It won’t let me. There is no vote button.
I’m trying to vote for local manufacturer and the app doesn’t allow me to.
Hi! Having trouble voting. Failed to verify referring. Please help!
Hello please accept my vote for Rickaroons as best vegan company!!!
Still says failed to verify referrer
I’m unable to vote for the best of vegan 2017. Using both Safari and Chrome on my Mac (OS 10.12.6). your webpage shows the results of the categories, but doesn’t allow any voting. The only items that allow voting are those that don’t show any results such as ramen, donut, and baked goods.
I just tried to cast my vote, first in Chrome, then in Safari, then in Firefox. Each time I selected the “Vote” button, I got the attached error message “Failed to verify referrer” in all three browsers, leading me to believe that votes may not be being registered. I’m on a Mac, therefore unable to check IE.
I am really not sure how to help. But based on my experience, those errors are caused by caching. Since your site is not caching the content. My gut feeling is the user’s ISP might be caching the content through a proxy server or something.
I cannot get the polls to work at all unless I am signed into WordPress and vote while in Preview. Otherwise I get Loading and it never registers the vote or failed to Verify. http://www.vertican.com/vcon2018sessionscm/. Any suggestions?
