Uploaded images not appearing

    Arg, I’m pulling my hair out over this one. I’m trying to upload an image to the wordpress installed at my domain. The image seems to upload OK, but later does not appear in the image library. Please click link to see image of what I’m talking about. Notice there is no thumbnail next to the image file name.

    When I try to post the image in a blog entry, it just appears as a broken link. The same happens for either the Flash or Browser Uploader…

    I tried the same image (and others) on my blog at the wordpress site and they worked just fine. They are only not appearing at the one connected to my domain.

    Hi,

    Please check with the flash file extension types – MIME Types are supported to your hosting account or not? If not then add it for your domain.

    Check the permissions to the folder where you have uploaded your images and they have 755 permissions or not.

    Hi,

    Even i am facing same problem. I am using wordpress 2.6.5. I browser upload to upload image. i changed permission to 777. And image got uploaded to server. Only thing is i am not able to access that image.
    I appreciate your help.

    Hi vinayhk, not sure if you figured this out or not, but you need to go to Settings -> Miscellaneous in the admin panel and change the upload directory.

    First, create a new directory called “uploads” in the wp-contents folder.

    Hope that helps…took me hours to figure that out!!
