I’ve never seen that happen. No idea where this might be going wrong. The only advise I can give is to check the server/hosting/WP_DEBUG error log for related messages.
Or you could try switching off all other plugins and maybe even go to the default theme to see if that solves the issue.

Disabled all plugins except yours, but still the same error. The Error log is empty.
Tried another xml-sitemap plugin, that worked like a charm. So I truly believe that there must be aproblem within your plugin.

Yes, I don’t deny the problem might well be with my plugin but it’s impossible for me to say where it comes from or even what is happening without knowing more. Or at least a way to reproduce the issue so I can look at it closer… What theme are you using? What platform or hosting package?
