[WP-dTree 3.0 ] What if Javascript is disabled?

    I just noticed that with javascript disabled, the plugin just prints nothing. I believe that the old version would print a normal, non expandable menu. I also believe that search engines do not run javascript, therefore for a search engine optimization, it is recommended to have a no javascript version that prints all links to our pages, otherwise the crawler will not find anything in our site.

    Or, am I missing something?

    Thanks for updating my favourite plugin and have it working for wp 2.7

    No, you’re spot on.

    Performance was the (second) biggest point when I picked up WP-dTree, so when implementing caching I never considered professional users, commercial sites or backwards web surfers. The decision to not have any noscript fall-back made (some) sense in that narrow context.

    These days – with well over 20 000 downloads and a dozen emails a week – I’m having to revisit a lot of these assumptions of mine. The next release will most likely have an (optional) fall-back, making the content accessible for web spiders and disabled users as well.

    If you’re really serious about standards-friendly tree navigation though, lenzm already suggested the proper™ way to implement it – but that’s out of scope for WP-dTree.
