Limit purchase by category

Hi,
There is a way to set a purchase limit by category and not by a single product?

For example:

I have 3 different products: chair, desktop, monitor.
At the moment, I can set a limit on the number of products that can be purchased (i.e. 20 chairs, 15 desktops, 30 monitors).
But that is not what I need to do.
What I need is to be able to assign a category (i.e. called “office”) to every single product, and set a limit to the category.

So, if I set a limit of 60 to my category, when the sum of the items that were purchased overall reached 60, all products of that category will be disabled.
