Download count off

I have a blog with hardly any users and decided to go with your download monitor when I decided to offer free downloads to my users. I’ve noticed that my download counts were all three and thought nothing of it at first.
On my Thanksgiving Placemats page I have two separate downloads offered and both had a count of three. I decided to download one to confirm it worked and I noticed that one now says it was downloaded 6 times while the other one remained at three. I checked the only other page I offer a download (advent calendar) and noticed it’s download count was three too. I wanted to check with you what might be increasing my count by three instead of one?
