The location is being verified by name and address (to avoid duplicates) if you specify so in the settings.

I’m not finding where in the EME settings I can fix this. Can you tell me where I will find that setting? Thanks.

Sorry, I mxed this one up with the EME facebook sync plugin.
This plugin has no specific settings for location duplicates, so the logic from EME is taken, which is to take an existing location if all the location info (name, address, …) is identical. If not, a new location is created.
However: when creating a new event via the frontend, the location name is an autocomplete field, meaning it will search and show existing locations with a matching name. Maybe you can point that out to your users.

Duplicate listings are still a problem for me. On frontend submit, it appears that if the user begins to enter a location that has already been used, the dropdown list appears that includes it. If the user selects the location from the dropdown list, it displays on the form as the location name but the address does not display on the form. After submitting the event, a second location has been created, which does not include the address and the address is missing from the listing. When this happens, I have to edit the event to show the original and complete location with address, and also remove the duplicate location. Alternatively, if the user selects the existing location (that shows no address) and types in the existing address, it also creates a duplicate location. If other EME users aren’t having this problem, I’m wondering what I need to fix on my site to prevent this time-consuming problem. Thanks!

I just got around duplicating the problem, so let me work on a fix …

Ok, 2 things:
– if you deleted the “old” location and kept the latest created one, you wouldn’t have had the duplicates (something to do with the defaults I set for a location …)
– the autocomplete worked fine, but was (as you saw) not completely predictable. This has been corrected now. So if you want to give it a try, download the latest development version here:

Thanks, Franky. I haven’t tried your suggestion yet – I’m not confident I know how to do that. Will it be possible to get the fix by updating EME the usual way via WordPress soon?
