Custom user fields

Hi Guys,

Could you help me with this apparently simple question? I added custom field to the user registration form, after someone registers I get a email with the filled in fields present, but afterwords the fields don’t seem to be saved to the user profiles or on any other place in the backend. How can I make it so that these fields are added to a users profile and filled with the info they submit?
