Home Page Length

Hi there, I am pretty new to wordpress and have been fiddling around trying to get my blog up and running and have now done so with a very good theme, just a query I have? I have made 3 posts so far and the page length keeps getting longer, will it automatically cut itself off or will it just keep getting longer with each post. Is there a way to limit how many posts show up on the home page?
