i’m not sure what u mean about the second part. but if you want just a bit of your post to show and then have “Read the rest of this entry »” you do this below:
in WP 2.7 (the other ones probably have a similar setup) go to your post and use the visual editor. the button …has a box cut in half by a dotted line (next to ABC check). push that where you want to add “Read the rest of this entry »”
people have to then click on that to read the rest of the post

The other question. I’d like to list the posts in one category by title, like a box of links that only apply to the category they are in. They wouldn’t appear in any other category. Like a table of contents for this specific category.
