I get this error: “You are posting comments too quickly. Slow down.”

    Whenever a user tried to leave a comment, he/she gets the following error:

    You are posting comments too quickly. Slow down.

    Another one that sometimes comes up is

    Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you've already said
that!

    I managed to get rid of the last one by hacking the code in the comments.php file. I am using a WP-Spam-Free by Scott Allen. I thought that originally that might have been the problem, so I deactivated the plugin and even deactivated Akismet, thinking that that might be causing it. But I get the same error message still. I really don’t know what the problem is. I am considering reinstalling WordPress. I know it’s not just version 2.7, because i had the same error come up in the previous version.
