Create Left Sidebar

    Hi There:

    I’m pretty new to WordPress.
    Would anyone be able to give me some ideas on what is the most standard way to create a Sidebar? I want one to the left and to the right of the default theme.

    Would i still be able to place widgets there etc??
    Or is a widget sidebar, the best way to go.

    I basically need a left and right side bar, both with the ability to add widgets, like tag clouds, recent posts in there etc..

    Do this with ID=”sidebar” in template sidebar.php. You can have desired number of sidebars but remember to properly manage your list elements (i.e. categories pages etc) so that they may not cause any positioning problem. Then style your sidebar ID properly in your main style sheet and have your theme up and running.
