Hey!

I was wondering if there is any way to use popups for opening external links.
The point would be, that people aren’t actually leaving my website, despite clicking on outside links.

I played around with it a bit, but couldn’t get it to work, not even with a site-wide iFrame in the popup. Am I doing something wrong or is it simply not working?

No, you’re not doing anything wrong. You’re just missing our Remote Content plugin extension to Popup Maker. That extension will address your intent; to pull ‘remote content’ (a url remote to the page that you are viewing) into the popup. The content can load either from a URL or an iFrame, or via AJAX.
