Update continually reverts to last version

    I have version 4.0 installed on my site; every time I visit the wp-admin page I’m informed that 4.0.1 is released. I can update the plugin and am told that this is successful, but after a short while it reverts back to v4.0 and I’m prompted to update again. wat. (this doesn’t happen for any other plugins installed).

    Are you running the WordPress beta testing plugin (or any other system that might be continually updating WordPress)?

    Doh, my bad. Even though I had included plugins in my .gitignore, my initial commit had them in the repo – every deploy of my child theme redeployed the plugins too.

    N00b level ninja…

    Removed plugins (other than than my own) from the repo and all is good.
