    Hi!
I’ve been using Hummingbird on my client’s site for a while and it’s worked great!

However, I believe that Hummingbird may now have problems with the LayerSlider plugin.
I had the LayerSlider CSS file minified and the js files minimized and in the footer… That had been working for over a month but stopped (I believe) with the latest Hummingbird update.

I checked for problems of conflicting with other plugins – Didn’t help.

There is no caching other than Hummingbird.

In Hummingbird Minimized, I set all files to “completely off” and cleared the HB cache. Problem persisted.

I turned Minimization off – Problem persisted

I went to uploads to see if cache files removed. All Hummingbird cache files gone except for for LayerSlider CSS HB cache file. Removed that file and then LayerSlider worked.

Enabled HP Minimzation (still all files set to “off”) – LayerSlider stopped working. (checked uploads folder – still no HB cache files.)

Disabled HB Minimization – Layerslider now works.

So… The bottom line is… With Minimization “off” for all individual files and no HB cached files existing, toggling the HB Minimization button on and off blocks the LayerSlider from working when set to on.

Obviously, the HB Minimization is still doing something that breaks the LayerSlider when it’s “on” even without any files being minimized, put in the footer, combined or deferred.

Some further information… I turned WP Debug on – There were no errors

The shared server is HTTP/2 – Minimization indicates that combine is not available.
    PHP is version 5.6

Any clues as to what’s going on?

    Thanks!

  • Hi @kendawes,

I’m sorry you are experiencing issues with Hummingbird.

Have you tried excluding the LayerSlider css file by clicking on the x button on the right?

LayerSlider has builtin optimization settings. You can check them on the Advanced Settings section. Make sure they are not interfering with Hummingbird settings.

Also please note that after the last Hummingbird update, LayerSlider released 2 more updates that could have caused the issue. To confirm if the issue is from HB – have you tried downgrading Hummingbird to a previous version to confirm that the issue is not present there?

    Best regards,
    Anton

Thank you for using Hummingbird. I am going to close this ticket for now. If you are still needing assistance please let us know and we can reopen the thread.
