• I’m truly beginning to hate WordPress. After a VERY painful move from one server to another, the WordPress installation is bruised and battered.
I am unable to reliably save posts… the TITLE of a new post will always save but often the text simply disappears, especially if the text is more than 300 words. I am not able to upload pictures anymore. If I try to edit an existing post, either the text will all disappear when I save, OR the text will revert back to the state it was before I began editing it.
I am at my wits end. I was convinced that WordPress would be a good choice for software for my online magazine. After two months of fighting with the program and the nightmarish server move, I’m starting to consider eliminating WordPress entirely and going with some other solution. I can no longer post any new stories, and the old stories cannot be edited anymore, no matter what I try to do. My web host insists it’s a software issue with WordPress. I even tried upgrading to 2.7 and the upgrade KILLED THE BLOG… I had to recover the files from backup.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME FIX MY BLOG??? My email address is EDITOR at FLORIDASGAZETTE dot COM THANK YOU!!

  • Well, it’s not clear how you moved your blog from one server to another.

You probably messed up when you did this.

Last month I did a WP move from one server to another and it went smoothly. I’ve compiled some instructions that you might want to check it out that may shed some light on what you did wrong.

You can check the instructions at:

yes, wordpress is one of the easiest CMS software. 🙂

how did you moved the blog? Do you have the backup?

Also, just for now, you can do one thing…
    1) take a full backup of your database(just in case!!! ) and files
    2) Export your posts from Tools –> Exposts
    3) Remove the current wordpress installation and install it again with fresh files, without using any backup
    4) Import the posts again from Tools –> import
