• I am using version 4.9 of Contact Form 7 and experiencing compatibility issues with the latest version of WordPress 4.8.2.

This topic has been discussed several times in the forum here and it appears that no solution was provided other than “change over to the new versions of the shortcodes”.

This makes a lot of sense, especially if they’re deprecated.

What makes no sense to me is why CF7 version 4.9 wouldn’t have addressed this at all. Why is it required to find and replace function calls in the plugin code? Shouldn’t the latest release of this plugin move away from deprecated code? Am I really understanding this correctly?

    Here’s an example: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/notice-wpcf7_remove_shortcode-is-deprecated/

This is the type of error I get:

Notice: wpcf7_remove_shortcode is deprecated since Contact Form 7 version 4.6! Use wpcf7_remove_form_tag instead. in /home/midwestfivestar/public_html/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/includes/functions.php on line 355
