PLEASE HELP

Hi all, fairly new to all of this so please be patient with me!

Earlier tonight, prompted by an alert on my dashboard I updated to the newest version of WordPress. As soon as the download was complete I clicked install, though when that happened the following text came up both on the log in page and my actual website:

I was unable to log in to the dashboard at this stage. Following the advice of another forum I downloaded FileZilla and deleted the theme mentioned in the above text from the wp/content/theme folder – although when I did that the whole site became inaccessible via it’s usual url. Now I can’t log in, and the site isn’t appearing under its link – and am very out of my depth! Any help would be so appreciated
