Im having an issue with my website. When I go to it I get a 403 Forbidden error. I contacted my host yesterday and was told my site had tons of malicious files. I have fixed that and had my host confirm there is nothing else left that is flagged malicious. However, my site is still giving me a 403 Forbidden error. Tech support for my host says it may be the wordfence firewall causing the problem. I uploaded a test index.html page and it resolves just fine, so it’s not a DNS or IP issue.

I have looked through all the settings in wordfence and there is nothing showing that is blocking anything. Any suggestions how to fix this?

Figured it out. Wordfence had some code in my .htaccess file that was blocking anyone from visiting my site.

    Hi @amhatt,

I’m glad you managed to regain access to your site.

However, I’m very curious which code you’re referring to. Could you please provide more details on that?

The only code Wordfence could, depending on your environment, add to the .htaccess file would be related to the PHP auto_prepend_file directive.
