Permission to Search as Admin

    Hi there,

    My site has the paid version of your plugin and I’m running into an issue where custom roles cannot search for content within a section of the site. For example, a customer user role has access to a custom post type. However, if they try to search for a particular post as an admin, they are redirected back to the admin dashboard. The default “Administrator” role does not have this problem and can search within Pages and all custom posts.

    Is there a permission for searching that I need to set?

    Hi Colin,

    I suppose that you restrict a custom user role admin menu access using “Block not selected” model. This option allows to use just directly allowed URL from admin menu. Search function usually adds new arguments to the same “allowed” URL and, thus it’s blocked.
    Quick workaround – switch to “Block selected” model at “Admin menu”.

    To get support for Pro version in time, it’s better to send questions to a role-editor.com forum or to a support email address.
