    Hi @swinzi,

that’s an IPv6 address. It means that some of your visitors use a different network setup to browse the web. Please see

ah ok i understand, but i see the ip different with another plugin. i mean i see the ipv6 like ipv4. that is normal ?

maybe abreviation… because i cant localise ipv6 whit infosniper…. any solution about that ???

No, that’s not normal. An IPv6 address cannot be mapped to an IPv4 address. However the other plugin might be detecting a more generic information, while Slimstat has advanced capabilities to detect the REAL user IP address.

ok but how can i now the location (state, city etc..). and how can i now if the user use vpn or not (same seconde question for ipv4)

According to this page, the GeoLite2 data file used by Slimstat is indeed compatible with IPv6:

I will run some tests on our end to see if I can reproduce your issue. Please note that other online services like infosniper MIGHT NOT be compatible with IPv6. You can change the lookup service in the settings, if you find one that supports IPv6. Like this one, for example:

ultratools dont work very well. how about my second question (VPN). have you for example any database to know if somes members use vpn or not ?

Slimstat will show you both addresses, if it detects a VPN which identify itself as such. Some VPNs will mask the originating IP address on purpose, for privacy reason. In that case there’s nothing Slimstat (or any other tool, for the matter) can do to circumvent this limitation.

    Best,
    Jason
