OK Mark,
maybe Sitemeter keeps/kept it “hanging”?
the blog seems to be working now, still hesitates and slow when “publish”
but as I said above, I had never any problems before;
comments and registry are shut down from the very beginning…

PLease let me know how it works from your distance.
Thanks
That just loaded very fast for me.
You could mail your host about the server error though, just to see what was going on. Could just have been a few minutes of routine maintenace.
I sometimes have a short delay for my counter too, and with Technorati going down, I’ve removed the code from my menu as the delay was too long.
These things happen ….

thanks podz,
I can always check againsy my other pages and blogs; so it wasn’t the server, because from my stats page on the host server included in the account, I could click right through to all of them but not to my wordpress blog it would either “hang” or “cannot find server” whereas the others were ok and showed up promptly…
I suspect the Sitemeter counter on the blog was down; but then again, this would be a first… and, yes, I recall taking off Technorati of one of my blogs because of pages “hanging” and not loading…
Now you think it’s a “server error” and they should know about it? but then, why do all the other pages work?
I’ll watch it some more…
Thanks

podz,
you were right on the server error; I didn’t contact them, BUT they exchanged or upgraded their system,
on Nov 1st which totally collapsed this weekend without back-ups to October 31.
Here are my entries:
http://wordpress.org/support/3/18076
Now this puts me in a quandary as to how to make WORDPRESS back-ups for my own files and use;
that’s really at issue here as this sort of failure does not appear to affect Graymatter and MT.
Is there something I can add to WORDPRESS “to make copies”
other than making “carbon copies” of each of all my entries in the future?
THANKS!
