Dear,

I think the OneSignal Plugin is great, but I’m having trouble sending it using the WordPress OneSignal Push Notifications plugin in version 1.16.1, because posts with private status are not sent to users who have an app installed, and the posts with public status are normally sent.

Does anyone know if there is any configuration or treatment in the plugin to solve this situation and send the private posts via the plugin?

I have already debugged the source code of the plugin and I could not identify the problem that prevents sending notifications to private posts.

In the business of my site is necessary to send notification of the private post and when the user receives in the device and click will open in the browser the login and password fields for restricted access. But unfortunately the notification is not sent, I have already verified directly in OneSignal and there is no sending of private posts, only the public posts.

Glad we were able to solve this issue with you.

The solution was:

The reason no notification is sent when a post is posted privately is because the post is not actually published, but is instead in a custom state called “posted privately”. Our WordPress plugin only sends notification for posts that change to the state “published”, and we don’t send a notification for any other state.

If you’d like to send a notification for both posts that are “published” and “posted privately”, see:

The code @rrander shared that was eventually working was:
