I am using the Sydney theme and downloaded the Weather Station plugin. I successfully connected it to my personal weather station, added the widgets to my Side Bar and it works well.
However the Weather Station plugin seems to be conflicting with the ‘SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle’ plugin and the impact is that various sub-menus under ‘Appearance’ in my Dashboard no longer work (Appearance –> Customize being one example).
If I deactivate the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin, the Appearance –> Customise window works fine. Equally if I deactivate the Weather Station plugin, the Customise window works fine. The challenge is that I need both the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin and Weather Station plugin to both be activated and not impacting the Customise menu.
If you have any ideas on how I can resolve this conflict, they would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • Hello nzluscombe!
    Sorry to hear you’ve got a problem…
I’ve just try on a fresh site with Sydney theme, SO Widgets Bundle and Weather Station and all is ok for me. Appearance menu is working and visual customization is working too.
Can you tell me which SO widget you’ve activated and which you are using? I will try to activate the same as you to see if it’s a specific widget which is causing this issue…

    Thanks.

Hi Pierre, thanks for your quick reply! Here are the SO widgets which are activated and in use:
    – Page Builder by SiteOrigin
    – SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle

If it helps, I also have the following widgets activated:
    – Post Types Order
    – Simple Custom CSS and JS
    – Sydney Toolbox
    – Unique Headers
    – WordPress Importer
    – WP Super Cache
    – Yoast SEO

    Thanks again
    Simon

    Hello!
Sorry if I was unclear… The items you speak of are plugins.
My question is : in SO Widgets Bundle, what are the widgets you activate / use?

    Thanks.

    Hello!
Despite the infos you gave me – and all my efforts, I’m unable to reproduce your issue.
Could you confirm me your php and WP version you’re using?
Have you error messages in your log files (target mainly memory problems, I have an intuition on this subject)?

    Thanks.

    Hi Pierre
Thanks a million for your efforts! I’ve now deactivated all the widgets in the SO Widgets Bundle, apart from the three which were in use. I then re-activated the Weather Station plugin, and the Appearance–> Customize menu now works! So I guess it was some conflict with one of the SO widgets, rather than the whole bundle. If I can work out exactly which one, I’ll let you know.
Weather Station is great and is looking good in my sidebars! Appreciate your help.
    Simon

Cool… That’s a great news. And I’m happy you like my plugin.
If, one day, you find which widget cause the issue, I am very interested in this information 🙂

Have a nice use of Weather Station… And don’t hesitate to make a review if you want to: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/live-weather-station/reviews/
