I successfully cloned and migrated my site after doing a 2 part install due to a large wp-content/uploads file.

When I try to log in to wp-admin on the new site (site B) I am redirected to the original site (site A)

I deleted the ht.access files but still I am redirected to Site A’s wp-admin.

I do not have any redirect plugins.

I created my clone on a subdomain ie clone.mymaindomain.com
The original site is also a subdomain on the same host (siteground), but we bought a URL and it comes up fine with domain.com

I have not been able to log in to the new clone so I can do the redesign that I want.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey @pd2empower,

All the tricks for fixing redirect issues are listed here:

        – Why do I get a 404, redirected, path errors/issues or unable to log in after installing?

Sometimes hosts can help you trace the source of the redirect…

    Hope that helps~

Thanks. I contacted my host and got it resolved but they had to make a new clone. Apparently when I created the clone the database was the same as the original site which was the problem.

It may have been a database permissions issues. Typically if the database doesn’t update then it will be shown in the installer-log.txt. Glad you got it worked out…

    Cheers~
