Can you please let me know what makes you think that is an issue with WP Job Manager? We’d like to check if we have a security hole in our code.

For the hacking issue, please remain calm and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

    Best Regards,

    Hi there,

    I’ve just checked again.

Please make sure that you’re using the latest version of WPJM 1.28.0.
The previous versions have some security issues.

    Please see here https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-job-manager-1-26-2-released/

Most likely malware is installed in random or well-know directories and the installation folder doesn’t indicate how it got in. It doesn’t tell you anything about how the break-in occurred at the first time.
Of course, probably it may be WP Job Manager, but it may be any other plugins, another domain sharing the same hosting account or dozens of other reasons.
I would recommend scanning the whole hosting account for malware.

@jamaloos If you have evidence that the most recent release of WP Job Manager has a security hole, please report it here:

    https://hackerone.com/automattic

Otherwise, we have no way of knowing our plugin was actually at fault here.

    Thanks!
