@thoraldus I am sorry to hear you are having issues. It’s not a problem we’ve had reported so could I ask if you are able to dive a bit more into this? For example, are you able to turn off any other plugins? My thoughts are that something plugin or theme is causing a conflict. Once we scale back we can maybe see.
Sorry, I should have been clearer. I can load an existing page, but can not edit it visually. I can not create a new Page, only a new Post.
When I open an existing page in Gutenberg I see this for example in Visual mode …

I’m sure things would be quite different if I were building a new web site from the ground up, but that will NOT be the case for my 50+ existing web sites. My clients will not pay me to recreate their sites because the core editor is not backwards compatible. They will be stuck at 4.9.9 until a viable solution becomes available.
Hmm that seems like something is conflicting. I would love to work out more. If you are up for it, could you make a GitHub issue so we can investigate? I totally get if you aren’t, but it could be good to dig in and find out so future users don’t get the same.
https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues is where you can create issues.
