To set post character limit to follow given instructions.
Go to in your plugin settings page >>Design and customization
Go to “Post Customization” section here set your Character limit in “Character limit” field.
Click on save changes button.

This limits the author´s characters, but not the shared post´s content length!

If a shared post is listed, the author´s text is limited as expected. The shared post content is quoted in full length and can not be limited. Yes, this setting is not working for the shared post. we will discuss this with our development team why they have not given the limit character settings support in the shared post or if this left by mistake sure we will add this in next update.
I will come revert with the solution ASAP
