Does TablePress Support Excel Hyperlinks Yet?

I read a few older questions about this, and the Excel Import function did not yet support the “=HYPERLINK(CELL1,CELL2) function. Has it been updated?

Otherwise, would a TEXT field, either in XLS or CSV with the following standard HTML cell data, be viewed as a Hyperlink in the TablePress import?

Otherwise, what type of field data does TablePress require to be viewable as a Hyperlink during the import process? I want to process larger tables without the need for tedious manual intervention.

Sorry, the TEXT link I was trying to display was auto-formated as a link b the forums, but it’s standard “a href” HTML and I’ve tried again to delete a few characters to get it slide by.

https://tablepress.org/extensions/automatic-url-conversion/ hope this helps. Use CSV as Excel files are buggy.

Thanks for the link, but I think I’ll have to stick with the “To add links to table cells, you’ll in general need to manually enter the HTML code for a link (something like My Link) into a cell” option, as I need to have control over the “anchor text” for both readability and keeping the column thin.

I am assuming there is no way to control the Anchor Text through the URL Conversion extension, and that a link like:

“www.example.com/text_articles/webinars/2017/may/lifestyle/gardens/234850_best_way_to_pick_weeds.html”

would be translated into this:

http://www.example.com/text_articles/webinars/2017/may/lifestyle/gardens/234850_best_way_to_pick_weeds.html

Hi,

sorry for the long delay, I was on holidays and could not reply earlier.

TablePress does not support Excel formulas like that. It is however possible to have the actual HTML code for a link in a TEXT cell.

The Automatic URL conversion Extension can indeed not control the link text, sorry.
